The Swiss Natural History Collections (SwissNatColl) portal is now accessible to everyone!

Providing open access to specimen data was a goal at the heart of the SwissCollNet initiative. It has now been achieved with the creation of the SwissNatColl portal, which offers unified access to standardised and quality-controlled data from 35 Swiss institutions across 20 cantons.

Biological and paleontological specimens housed in Swiss institutions were collected from all over the world. The portal enables researchers and the public to easily explore specimen data through different viewing modes via a single, user‑friendly interface. It also includes tutorials on how to search, display, filter, and download information.
